Completely Smitten

My home-cooked dinners these past weeks have been, for lack of a better word, lame.
I did attempt to make Balsamic Roast Beef French Dips last week, but other than that lame attempt I have been eating cereal and pathetic salads.
This is completely unacceptable when I have a brand new cookbook on display in my kitchen, just waiting to be cracked open.

I received the Smitten Kitchen cookbook for Christmas and have yet to use it, so I have a New Year's Resolution for the week to make a dinner from this book each night this week.
There is nothing like a home-cooked meal and I get such joy from being in the kitchen making something I can enjoy with friends or alone. So this week I plan to be "smitten with friends and food"!

So if you liked home-cooked meals too then come over this week and enjoy some good food with good friends. Bring something to contribute (like a great bottle of wine) and we will have a great time!
Anyone is welcome, just give me a shout if you want to hear the menu for the next five nights!
There might even be some Bachelor-watching, board games, dancing and music.

Tonight's meal? Sweet peas and shell alfredo!

  1. I love following the Smitten Kitchen blog! They always have yummy recipes.

If you like to entertain the writers of the blog SpoonForkBacon have a cookbook called "Tiny Food Party" that has some great ideas for small bites to feed your guests!
