Let's Save Some Money

Sale!!

There is a note, written on my office dry-erase board, that my sweet "office roommate" wrote to help herself with the little thing we all know as a shopping addiction. It reads something along the lines that she will not buy anything in the month of July...unless it is at least 60% off.
That is really a great rule, because if something is that discounted then it is just begging to be purchased.

Although the items above are not all 60%, they are all on sale and a great deal. A girl like me can never resist a sale. I swear to this day that I was running towards a "great sale" when I cracked my head open and needed stitches as a very young child. I might embellish the story a bit, but I did hit my head on a clothing rack in a Ross, and their were stitches involved.

Kate Spade Wallet $228 $114
Shoshana Beaded Dress $418 $167.20
Madewell Striped Dress (Ties in the back!) $138 $99.50
Loft Tassel Sandals (Unfortunately no longer on sale, sorry! But still a great deal!) $89.50

And don't miss J. Crew's 7 Surprise Sales everyday this week!

Don't get so excited that you hit your head on the computer screen.

Things I Love

It's Things I Love Thursday and goodness, I love so much. It is one of those times when I love everything that I see in stores, online, and on blogs. This always happens when a new season comes along because the colors and styles are new and different. I am officially ready to swap out all my jeans for shorts and my leggings for dresses. I am ready to retire my dark bags for bright and cheery totes and all of my red and purple nail polishes have been replaced with pastels and neon hues. Summer is here and I am loving it all!

Something to Talk About

Oh the joys of being at home and being able to watch the Today Show. It really is the little things in life.
This morning on the Today Show, iVillage released the "Most Talked About" topics of the year. Most of the events and people on the list aren't things I would normally blog about but I promise there is a reason for exposing this list.
8. Kardashians...
7. High-profile infidelity
5. Amanda Knox verdict
4. Steve Jobs
3. Casey Anthony trial and verdict
2. Penn State scandal
1. The economy

After hearing this list I started thinking about the things I have talked about the most on this blog. I went back through the past year's posts and did some research on my most popular rants and raves. I wasn't too surprised by what I found, I know what I love and I love sharing those things with you.

10. Holidays

9. Cupcakes

8. Weddings

7. Shoes

6. Coffee/Starbucks

5. Kate Spade

4. J. Crew

3. Essie

2. Fall

1. Nail Polish

Surprising? Not one bit. I like my list much more than the one from iVillage; a little most positive. There is too much crummy stuff in the world to let it leak into my blog. I would much rather continue believing in true love and the goodness in people.

Until next time.
Some things in life are too sweet not to be shared.

Color Club

Clockwise, in order

Sequin Shift DressColorful Wool Scarf

I love that Kate Spade chose "multi" for the November color. It's just what everyone needs to get them in the mood for an upcoming December holiday and the festivities that go along with that.
This blog post originated when I was browsing the new OPI Muppet's Collection and found the multi-colored glitter polish, Rainbow Connection. I have never been a big fan of glitter in nail polishes, opting for the traditional glossy look, but recently that has all been changing. There is something special about glitter this time of year and my sparkly nails are reflecting that. So what's big for the month of November? According to Kate Spade it is all colors, all the time. According to me, it is glitter glitter glitter. And according to OPI, it is both. OPI is the clear winner here.

Until next time.
Color is cute and glitter is good.

Things I Love

Things I have loved this week-
almond lattes
waking up to 65 degree weather
strangers paying for your dinner unexpectedly

Kate Spade Sample Sale purchases arriving in the mail.
"She tucked her coral lipstick away and floated back to the party"
It was worth staying up until 2 AM browsing Ms. Spade's website for the perfect purchases. This mandarin wallet and strand of pearls, swoon.

Sunflower Farmers Market in OKC.
What a great way to spend Labor day.
Oh and I cannot stop eating the chocolate and peanut butter covered pretzels I purchased.

Random things I love.
Grilled mozzarella and feta cheese sandwich on garlic rubbed bread with tomatoes and bacon.
Window display.
My hand mixer that I finally stole from my parents house. It makes the best milkshakes, which poses a big problem for my vow to cut back on sweets.

Until next time.
I love my iPhoto library.

Case of the Blues

and I wouldn't have it any other way
"Beautiful" by John Kalymnios
Happy Friday!
One of my favorite people to follow on Twitter is Kate Spade NY because the tweets are always about wonderful adventures and beautiful sights and sounds. Kate Spade is also always revealing a new color of the month, and for August, my personal favorite month, the color is blue.
Which I must admit I am loving every hue of right now.

 Alice and Olivia Dress
Christian Louboutin Booties
Kate Spade August Ring
Matthew Williamson Clutch
J Brand Skinny Jeans
Tucker Blouse

Thanks Ms. Spade for giving us monthly inspiration not only to embrace color but to be quick and curious and playful and strong.

Until next time.
I demand you watch me dance.

Why Don't You...

Remember these beautiful Kate Spade natural stone earrings featured here. Well in case you don't here they are in all their beauty.
Well I saw them in person while in Georgetown and tried them all on and thought they were beautiful, forgetting that they run for $195 or more per pair.
I love nice jewelry as much as the next girl but...
Why don't you...

Save some money and get these instead.
This six-pack is from Urban Outfitters and all six pairs are so great. I split the pack with my sister and couldn't even choose which ones I wanted because I love them all. I haven't taken my turquoise pair off yet!

Here are some other great look alikes from Urban.
Cavern Crystal Posts
Think of all the things you could buy with all that money you are saving.
I am thinking a whole weeks worth of groceries and maybe a half a tank of gas.
Or maybe something entirely insensible all together.

Until next time.
Frugal female.

“I wanted to change myself but accept myself. I wanted to take myself less seriously- and also more seriously. I wanted to use my time well, but I also wanted to wander, to play, to read at whim. I wanted to think abut myself so I could forgot myself… I wanted to let go of envy and anxiousness about the future, yet keep my energy and ambition.”

Until next time.
Live colorfully.

Things I Love

I am deeply sorry for the absence of posts in these last couple of days. The flu bug has taken over my life, which means I have been spending a lot of time on my couch at home. This seems like it would be the perfect time to catch up on all my blogging, except that my laptop was completely dead and useless without my charger. Luckily in this day of technology I am able to do most of my web surfing on my phone, and thanks to Fashionologie I have been able to stay updated on New York Fashion Week.

Nanette Lepore Fall 2011

Tracy Reese Fall 2011
Derek Lam Fall 2011
Other than Fashion Week, I am really loving this picture of Mary-Kate Olsen, who is looking so normal and healthy. Takes me back to Passport to Paris.

Without a computer and only SoapNet to keep me company these last couple of days, I find myself checking twitter approximately every 17 minutes. Luckily KatespadeNY tweets about once every 17 minutes and posts the greatest pictures.
