Wedding Watching

Who doesn't love a great chick flick, especially one that features over-the-top, but beautiful weddings. This week I have been thinking about my favorite wedding movies because my own best friend is tying the knot this weekend.

My group of best friends got together last weekend for our last single girl sleepover and of course we had to watch one of these great movies. We popped in My Best Friend's Wedding and laughed while Julia Roberts plotted to break up her best friend's wedding while eating a sinfully-good dessert. I love all of the above movies, but none can compare to my all-time favorite, Father of the Bride. There is nothing like watching a dad fret and stress about his little girl growing up. It also might be an accurate picture of how my own dad will act upon hearing that one of his little girls are getting married.

I'll be watching one of these every night until Saturday!

Something to Talk About

Oh the joys of being at home and being able to watch the Today Show. It really is the little things in life.
This morning on the Today Show, iVillage released the "Most Talked About" topics of the year. Most of the events and people on the list aren't things I would normally blog about but I promise there is a reason for exposing this list.
8. Kardashians...
7. High-profile infidelity
5. Amanda Knox verdict
4. Steve Jobs
3. Casey Anthony trial and verdict
2. Penn State scandal
1. The economy

After hearing this list I started thinking about the things I have talked about the most on this blog. I went back through the past year's posts and did some research on my most popular rants and raves. I wasn't too surprised by what I found, I know what I love and I love sharing those things with you.

10. Holidays

9. Cupcakes

8. Weddings

7. Shoes

6. Coffee/Starbucks

5. Kate Spade

4. J. Crew

3. Essie

2. Fall

1. Nail Polish

Surprising? Not one bit. I like my list much more than the one from iVillage; a little most positive. There is too much crummy stuff in the world to let it leak into my blog. I would much rather continue believing in true love and the goodness in people.

Until next time.
Some things in life are too sweet not to be shared.

Could I Have That

I was unsure of what I was going to blog about this morning, I had already planned to skip todays post unless an idea just came to me in the night or during my morning coffee.
Well I think the coffee works as a creative stimulant for my brain because at 9:00 AM I already had a few good ideas rolling around.
It was when I ran across these pictures from what seems like the most beautiful wedding that I knew exactly what sweet thing I needed to share this morning.

Even if all the guests can't see them, wedding shoes are one of the most important things.
It's like cute underwear... no one sees it but you know what your wearing and it makes you feel a little more fun and if you are wearing Jimmy Choo sparkle heels under your dress you probably feel a little more glamorous.

These lucky bridesmaids were so blessed by their loving bride who provided them with bridesmaids dresses that can absolutely be worn again. I swoon over these simple and sparkly Tibi dresses that were worn with rhinestone accessories.

I love all of their different hairstyles yet matching robes.

The only thing missing from this blogpost from Could I Have That (written by the lovely lady on the far right) was the brides dress. I am dying to know what it looked like, but if I had to guess it would probably look like this...

or this...
Dresses by Ivy & Aster
My ultimate swoon when it comes to wedding dresses.

Until next time.
Here comes the bridesmaids...
all dressed in Tibi

Madison Ave.

Some people never got into the royal wedding.
Most people are over the royal wedding.
The select few still think about it, dream about it, and replay every detail in their head 4 days after it happened...  Hi, that's me!

I am still in absolute, full wedding mode and it has been over 72 hours since I sat up and watch Catherine and William officially tie the knot. Still swooning.

Because of all this swooning, and since I can't travel across the pond, I would like to go to Madison Ave. in NYC to visit this little gem.

J. Crew Bridal

I think a little visit inside this beautiful store could fill my appetite for all things wedding, don't ya think?

Until next time.
Keep calm and MARRY on.

27 Dresses

Last Saturday began my official season of weddings. This spring and summer are jam-packed full of friends' weddings and personally, I could not be more excited that I am at the age where my close friends are getting engaged and married. It doesn't freak me out or make me feel lonely at all...

Regardless, I have been in full wedding mode since Saturday and I got to spend most of yesterday conversing with one of my best friends about her own wedding that I am honored to be a part of. But as a bridesmaid you do hope that your loving friend and bride-to-be picks out a dress that
1. Doesn't emphasize your wider assets
2. Doesn't resemble the color of baby food
3. You can wear again

We have all seen the wedding-horror classic, 27 dresses, and the bridesmaid dress montage that displays some of the most hideous dresses to ever walk this earth. Here's hoping that one day I am not Katherine Heigl in that movie... but if I do have the privilege of being in over 20 weddings I might start requesting that my bridesmaid dresses come from the lovely BHLDN.

What a wonderful thing they have done and illustrated the ways to go from the big day and after too.
Swoon.

Until next time.
Merry maid.

Behold BHLDN

Today is Valentine's Day, Single Awareness Day, and the day I found out I had the flu.
But more importantly than all of those things put together... today is also the day that Anthropologie debuts their long awaited wedding collection, BHLDN.

Behold...the gown

Behold...the bridesmaid's dresses. Swoon.

Pom Pom shoe clips and D'Orsay Heels. To die for.

I was so jealous when I saw that some of my favorite bloggers,
Emily and Joanna, were invited to a sneak peak of this new wedding line. They were able to try on dresses and play around in all the beautiful shoes.

...check out the Nuptials of Yesteryear on B H L D N, because relationships like that should be celebrated.

Until next time.
Love.

Things I Love

There are so many things that make today such a great day, and it all started at about midnight when my roommates and I decided to forgo sleep for awhile and enjoy some classic, late night girl talk with a snack of cereal and chocolate milk. It goes without saying that morning came quick, and we all proceeded to hit the snooze button more than once. But nothing wakes me up better than a cup of coffee and bowl of hot oatmeal, especially when our room is freezing, like it was this morning (65 degrees!) So now I am done with class and ready for a full day of catching up on homework, running errands, and watching endless amounts of my boot legged Boy Meets World DVD's. (Awkward: these DVD's are recorded straight off a TV, so it's a major disappointment when you are watching and see the running news scroll along the bottom of the screen advertising for a brand new episode of Lizzie McGuire, only to realize that unfortunately there hasn't been a new episode since 2004. Talk about false advertisement.)

Here are some other things that make me happy!

I wouldn't mind finding This Little Monster in my closet.

Hot Pink and Leopard- is there anything more girly?

The new online magazine, Matchbook.

This perfect couple.

Oh, and not to mention the best news to women all over the world. Anthropologie's new Wedding Line to unveil February 14 (how perfect!) Unfortunately there are no pictures available yet, just the rotating ones seen here. Such a wonderful tease.

Until next time.
Be you, be loved.
