Like Crazy

See it.
I can't do it justice by trying to talk about it and review it. It was wonderful.
Not wonderful in the way that most romantic comedies are, but in a way that captures real and true and passionate love and the struggles that comes along with that.
I can't remember the last time I have cried so hard in a movie, and not just during it but the whole drive home as well. My mom was very disturbed to find me at home with my mascara all over my face.
It is real life and in real life love doesn't always end up the way you expect it to.

I thought I understood it
That I could grasp it
But I didn’t
Not really
I knew the smudgeness of it
The pink-slippered-all-containered-semi-precious eagerness of it
I didn’t realize it would sometimes be more than whole
The wholeness was a rather luxurious idea
Because its the halves that halve you in half
Didn’t know
Don’t know about the in between bits
The gore-y bits of you
And gore-y bits of me
-Like Crazy

Until next time.

For the Lovers

"No way November will see our goodbyes, when it comes to December it's obvious why... no one wants to be alone at Christmas time."- John Mayer

Who do you take your relationship advice from? I obviously cling to the words of Mr. Mayer along with my favorite romantic comedies, like Sleepless in Seattle which I watched Wednesday night. I fell asleep right before the end of the movie so now I have no idea what to do after I get to the top of the Empire State Building...

I could sit here and hash out all the tips and tricks I have gathered about love, and even share some great and disastrous stories of my own adventures in life, love, and other mysteries. You might get a few laughs, I might even bring one glistening tear to one's eye, but undoubtably I would bore the majority of you, mostly because all my tips came from Seventeen magazine and they are the same ones you clipped out and taped on your mirror in 6th grade.

"Don't ever text or call a boy first!" Because that never happens. Girls can make up the greatest excuse of why we should text a guy first.
"Practice kissing on your hand" Who did this? We are no longer friends.

Those are my two tips/criticisms of the Seventeen "How to Land that Perfect Guy-- who you are completely embarrassed to admit loving now that you are no longer a teenager and he still spikes his hair and wears Jenko Jeans."

I am no Carrie Bradshaw, I am no marriage counselor, but I really like these articles on relationships. Neither of these are sappy stories, trust me I would warn you if they were. Just two takes on love and how it finds us and how to make it work.

When Words Don't Fit- A story about boys who write poems

How To Land a Guy in 10 Days- some really "practical" tips that will make you laugh out loud. These girls are funny and definitely a blog that I will be adding to my blog read.

Until next time.

Get the Look

There are too many things this week that I love so I decided to forgo my usual "Things I Love" thursday and go with a fashion post.
But I will quickly tell you about the things I love this week
1. My mom coming to take me to dinner because she knew I was having a bad week
2. My mom buying me a new "Love" pillow for my bed
3. My mom bringing me a feather bed for my bed. Ultimate comfy zone now.
4. My mom helping me rearrange my room so it looks so much better.
5. My mom.

I have also been loving this outfit recently and have kept it on my desktop for a while to pull inspiration.

Get the look...

Start with the basics, and I use the term basics loosely because not many would consider hot pink skinny jeans a basic, but you get the point.
Skinny Jeans by Current/Elliot
Tee by Madewell

Sandals by DV Dolce Vita
Blazer by Maje (It's on sale!!)
All Jewelry by Topshop (I LOVE the fabric bracelets)
Aviators by Urban Outfitters

Until next time.

Allure

Kate Middleton is flawless.
And now she is a princess.

My top 5 Favorite Royal Wedding Moments... so far (it's only 6 AM)

1. The dress, I couldn't imagine anything more beautiful. No words.
2. Prince Harry's face and words to his brother as the bride-to-be walked down the aisle at Westminster "wait 'til you see her"
3. Pippa, the MOH in white. That was risky Kate because your sister is almost, just almost as stunning as you.
4. When I found that HRH Catherine Middleton was wearing Essie nail polish in Allure. I almost had a panic attack when I found out that she was wearing my favorite nail polish.
5. The rare glances and smiles Kate and Will would sneak during the ceremony.
"You look fabulous... You look beautiful."- Prince William
The most ultimate SWOON

Until next time.
Kiss her!

Where the Sidewalk Ends

I have been reading children's poetry all day for school and I am perfectly fine with it.

I could read Shel Silverstein until the sidewalk ends.

Until next time.

Behold BHLDN

Today is Valentine's Day, Single Awareness Day, and the day I found out I had the flu.
But more importantly than all of those things put together... today is also the day that Anthropologie debuts their long awaited wedding collection, BHLDN.

Behold...the gown

Behold...the bridesmaid's dresses. Swoon.

Pom Pom shoe clips and D'Orsay Heels. To die for.

I was so jealous when I saw that some of my favorite bloggers,
Emily and Joanna, were invited to a sneak peak of this new wedding line. They were able to try on dresses and play around in all the beautiful shoes.

...check out the Nuptials of Yesteryear on B H L D N, because relationships like that should be celebrated.

Until next time.
Love.

The Way We Were

Today I will be Carrie Bradshaw and blog a little about love. Not that I am an expert, but who is? After taking a cue from my favorite girls, the before mentioned Carrie and Lorelei Gilmore, I watched the ultimate chick-flick, The Way We Were. It goes without saying that I loved the movie and wiped away tears when no one was watching. Who doesn't love some Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford (swoon)
K-k-katie, the ultimate complicated girl and Hubble, the perfect boy. The soul mates who can't make it work.

The movie follows the years of love and passion between Katie and Hubble. Although these two opposites love each other so much they don't they end up together (oops sorry I just ruined the ending) The whole movie you are led to believe that despite all their differences and issues, love will conquer all. And yet, it doesn't, because mister perfect hair and beautiful face cannot handle how complicated Katie truly is.

Katie: I don't have the right style for you do I?
Hubble: No you don't have the right style.
Katie: I'll change.
Hubble: No, don't change. You're your own girl, you have your own style.
Katie: But then I won't have you. Why can't I have you?

"You'll never find anyone as good for you as I am, to believe in you as much as I do or love you as much"

Katie is a lover. Katie is a complicated mess. An outspoken, curly haired mess who wears her heart on her sleeve. As girls we all have a little (or a lot) of Katie in us. So love. Embrace your curly hair and say what you want. Be complicated and don't ever change for anyone. Because we are fabulous.

Above all else, be classy. At the end of the movie when Katie sees the love of her life with his new, simple girl, she leaves him with five words.
"You're girl is lovely, Hubble"

Until next time.
Your K-k-katie
