Market Must-Haves

Last week I went to Dallas for the January apparel market where stores and boutiques from all over come in to scout and buy the upcoming seasons newest trends in clothing. I was working in the lobby of the Fashion Industry Gallery watching people rushing in to go to appointments with Starbucks in hand. I found myself wondering what everyone was drinking (such an odd trait of mine) and observing what everyone was wearing. There were lots of silk pants, printed jeans, Louis Vuittons, and great boots. There were some outfits that walked past me that I couldn't help but noticing and lusting over. I pulled out an old receipt and a pen from my purse and started jotting down certain things that I feel like my closet are in desperate need of.

The following are my market must-haves and other things that I loved my whole time in Dallas.

Welcome November

via. Hip Hip Gin Gin

Happy November everyone, and happy Friday! I couldn't be more pleased that the weekend is a mere hours away. This week seemed to drag on, despite all the fun things happening. I cannot wait to get some relaxation in, some kitchen-time in, and some much needed Barre.

Here are some lovely links to get you through the day- I know I need it.

Tips for a happier house
Some serious pumpkin carvings

I have to make this sandwich again

And in case you missed it-- A Peony For Your Thoughts has a new Facebook page, where you can enjoy more sweet things. So if you haven't already, please go there and "like" it

Starbucks officially has Christmas cups. Swoon.

Things I Love

I feel like Things I Love Thursday's have just become Tumblr Thrusdays because it always ends up being a mass amount of pictures that I have collected on my desktop that I have been obsessing over for the past week, or five weeks.

No explanation necessary.

This outfit.
This girl. Anh.
Her blog. 9 to 5 Chic.
That cape.

I love this hair. And if you run into me today there is a good chance that I have attempted it.
How-to here: Refinery 29

Nude and Navy.
Loving this collage of wonderful chicness by Could I Have That

It's just that time of the year when this is necessary every day of the week.
I am loving the salted caramel americano.
It's under $3 and americano's only have 15 calories regularly so I feel like adding the salted caramel can't make it too bad.

This room.
Swoon.
I love Dilly Dallas.

Until next time.
I love fall. And bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils.

She's Got the Look

She's Got the Look

I fell in love with this outfit when I ran across it on What I Wore early Monday morning. Jessica is always rocking classy, yet daring and vintage looks and this outfit especially... I can't get enough. Jessica Quirk's tag line declares her love for vintage finds matched with investment pieces paired with bargain buys and her daily pictures show just that.

Above: I found a few items of my own (investment and bargain) to recreate this perfect, summer to fall, transitional outfit.

Until next time.
A classic combination.

Get the Look

There are too many things this week that I love so I decided to forgo my usual "Things I Love" thursday and go with a fashion post.
But I will quickly tell you about the things I love this week
1. My mom coming to take me to dinner because she knew I was having a bad week
2. My mom buying me a new "Love" pillow for my bed
3. My mom bringing me a feather bed for my bed. Ultimate comfy zone now.
4. My mom helping me rearrange my room so it looks so much better.
5. My mom.

I have also been loving this outfit recently and have kept it on my desktop for a while to pull inspiration.

Get the look...

Start with the basics, and I use the term basics loosely because not many would consider hot pink skinny jeans a basic, but you get the point.
Skinny Jeans by Current/Elliot
Tee by Madewell

Sandals by DV Dolce Vita
Blazer by Maje (It's on sale!!)
All Jewelry by Topshop (I LOVE the fabric bracelets)
Aviators by Urban Outfitters

Until next time.

Outfit Envy

Every semester I tell myself that I am going to wake up early and get ready for class, at least try to look presentable for my professors and my peers. Especially if my future husband happens to be in one of my classes or walking around the shelves of books in the library waiting for me? Well almost everyday, I fail. I sleep in, or I wake up early and then spend my morning watching Kathie Lee and Hoda and then I have to throw of my fleece and tennis shoes to run to class. Once again, I look like a slob. This blog has motivated me to dress up a little, just in case someone randomly snaps a picture of me and I decide to post it. Okay so maybe that will never happen.

But here is a girl, who someone manages to look like a total rock star and diva, every single day, even when she is just going to class.

Hello, kicking myself for not buying that sweater when I tried it on last fall at Nordstroms.

Every single person has all of these pieces in their closet. Comfy jeans...check! White tee...check! Spring scarf...check! Brown belt...check! Blazer...check!

I tried to recreate this denim-on-denim look this weekend. Unfortunately mine included a denim dress and a Salvation Army denim jacket, turned vest c/o my safety scissors, lined with lace. Hope you just got a GREAT visual of my own version of the Canadian Tuxedo. Trust me, it was not sassy or chic.

Check out Sydney's sassy blog and follow the adventures of her and her sweet husband. I'm talking like I know these people, I don't. Just a loyal blog follower and trust me after one look, you will be too!

Until next time.
Closet copy-cat.
