Boyfriend Gift Guide

It's that time of the year again! The time of the year that females either dread, tolerate, or love.
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, which means that most girls are stressing about what to get their man friend. I haven't quite figured out what makes it so difficult to shop for guys but it has always been a struggle. Girls, on the other hand, are a breeze to shop for, in fact we are also really easy to please overall...

I can't claim to be an expert when it comes to shopping for guys, but I have done some research online, on other blogs, and with friends and my own man friend and think that I have put together some ideas to get you started. If you still need more ideas, check out my other boyfriend gift guide here

American Flag- Best Made Co.
This website is full of cool ideas, including these other historic flags that are a great addition to a bachelor pad, camp supplies, and tools. Perfect for the rugged man in your life.

The Hungover Cookbook - Barnes and Noble
A clever cookbook that starts with a quiz to determine your exact state of mind and ability to cook. The book categorizes six different types of hangovers and supplies recipes for each, including the Elvis Presley Peanut Butter, Banana, and Bacon Sandwich.

Baseball Henley - J.Crew
Give your man friend subtle hints with this gift- he should wear a little more J.Crew and a little less of that high school t-shirt he just won't get rid of.

Ribbed Beanie - Bloomingdales
We still have six more weeks of winter, so he will need to bundle up with the help of this stylish and warm beanie.

Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts
One thing that I have learned over all the years is that the easiest way to please a guy is through his stomach. If you want to keep it simple or need something small to add to your gift, hit your local grocery store and pic up a Valentine's themed bag of his favorite candy.

ESPN's 30 for 30 - Dick's Sporting Goods
This box set includes all 30 episodes of the ESPN Film Series, including never-before-seen footage and interviews. The best part about this gift is that you can even join him on the couch to watch these- I've loved every one I have watched!

I usually recommend homemade treats and cookies but everything on this website looks delicious and perfect for Valentine's Day. This site has sandwich cookies, flavored marshmallows, brownies, and hot chocolate mixes. In fact, I wouldn't mind any of those things for myself, including this helpful tea towel.

If you are looking for recipes for homemade treats, I would suggest these-
Strawberry Shortcake - my favorite!

V-Day Fun and Links

Either your favorite or least favorite holiday is happening this week. Whether you will be spending this Thursday with girlfriends (like I did last year- we watched First Wives Club and ate copious amounts of chocolate) or with your sweetheart, these links from some of my favorite blogs will provide you with fun ideas for this holiday. Regardless of your feelings towards this day, it gives you a great excuse to eat sweets, drink wine, and dress in flirty pink and red.

Febru-Any {+Link Love}

I had to name this post after one of the many Super Bowl commercials that aired last night. The Subway ad that inspired this blogpost title had me giggling and then prompted my family's own attempt to say "Febru-Any" without sounding ridiculous. Even though it is already the 4th of February I wanted to start the month by sharing some of my favorite things- swoon-worthy sweets, new blog crushes, and even a video about Russians and their tall hats.

These heart bowls from West Elm have been all over the blogs in the last couple of weeks- so it is no surprise that when I went to find them on this Monday morning, they would be no longer available. Typical Monday morning move by West Elm. For that reason I am especially loving J. Crew who still has these beautiful earrings in stock. I love the combination of colors and texture that would be sure to liven up any outfit. Speaking of outfits, how badly do I want to be wearing the outfit above? Even if it is going to be warmer today in Oklahoma, I know that I will still be freezing and that sweater and fur scarf look wonderful. Valentine's Day is officially next week and if you haven't yet made dinner reservations then why not cook at home? Making homemade pizzas, like this chicken caesar salad pizza, is not just delicious but fun- especially when you actually make the dough and throw it in the air like you a real dough man.

I love this sandal for Spring.

I couldn't come up with my favorite Super Bowl ad, so I have been re-watching them all here.

Blog Crushes
Love and Olive Oil - plus a great giveaway!

Let's just make it to Tuesday.

Boyfriend Gift Guide

When I got a text last week from a friend looking for Valentine's gift ideas for her boyfriend I was shocked at why she would be asking me. I haven't bought a Valentine's day present for a boy since the 7th grade, and I think that it was a baseball cap from American Eagle.
But once I started thinking about it more, I realized that I have had a lot of friends in the last couple decades of my life that have had to go through the struggle of buying gifts for boys. And when I say struggle, I mean struggle.
Hopefully my ideas cover all price ranges and personalities; for those who have been dating for a week or for those couples in it for the long haul (and on their 5th Valentine's Day together).

Timex Watch $98-$195
Tie $95
His favorite TV on DVD set- I would recommend Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Game of Thrones-whatever he loves!
A jersey of his favorite sports team- I would recommend one for the OKC Thunder

And if a store bought gift isn't enough to show your love then I would suggest baking something sweet to really seal the deal on your special gift.

And if you still need ideas (you can never have too many) then check these man gifts from Etsy.
